  • How do I reserve a caricature artist for my event?
Once we confirm the availability of an artist or artists for your event, you can secure the booking by signing a contract and providing a 30% deposit. Please provide the following details so we can create an invoice and contract for your booking: - Full name: - Phone number: - Mailing/Billing address: - Venue name and address: - Type of event: - Number of guests: - Number of artists you wish to book: - Duration of the artist's services (start and end times):
  • Can the artist just draw my caricature in color and the rest of the guests in black & white?
Yes, the artist can draw you and a few special guests in color while drawing the other guests in black and white. But this depends on whether we have an artist who can do color caricatures available for your event.
  • What do I need to provide for the traditional caricature artist to setup?
For a caricature artist to set up at a private residence or event venue, you'll need to provide at least two chairs: one for the artist and one for the person getting drawn. If possible, a third chair would be helpful since some people like to be drawn together as a couple. Additionally, you'll need to allocate a minimum 6’ x 6’ space for the setup. If your event is in a place that might be dark, the artist will need a power source to plug in extra lights. For outdoor events during the day, the artist will require protection from direct sunlight because they can't draw with the sun in their eyes, and guests may find it uncomfortable to sit for the 5 to 8 minutes needed to be drawn. The heat can also be overwhelming for the artist to work for hours. To ensure comfort and safety, the artist must be protected from rain, extreme wind, and the sun. Therefore, a tent, large umbrella, or other covered structure will be required for most outdoor setups.
  • Can the traditional caricaturist also draw caricatures in color on paper?
Most traditional caricature artists can create color caricatures on paper, but not all offer this service. When booking, it's important to request color specifically; otherwise, the artist will typically draw in black and white or grayscale by default.
  • What other items can the caricature artist draw on other than poster paper?
Instead of the traditional 11” x 14” or 11” x 17” poster paper, our artists at Graffiti Pop Events offer caricature drawings on a variety of fun alternatives. Here’s a list of options our caricaturists can draw on: - Coasters - Canvas Paper
  • How long does it take for a traditional caricature artist to draw each person?
Usually, it takes about 5 to 6 minutes for an artist to draw one person in black and white, showing just the head and shoulders. If the drawing is in color, it takes a bit longer—around 6 to 8 minutes. Some of our fastest artists can draw up to 15 people in black-and-white each hour. But on average an artist can draw about 11 to 13 people in black and white, or 6 to 10 people in color, in an hour. Drawing Times: Black and White: 5 to 6 minutes each; 11 to 13 people an hour Color: 6 to 8 minutes each; 6 to 10 people an hour If the artist is drawing more than one person on the same piece of paper, it doesn't speed things up. It still takes the same amount of time to draw each person. Drawing times are not guaranteed - The drawing times given are based on how fast the artist usually works, but they might not always be exact. Sometimes it can take longer because the artist might have to wait for people to sit down, there might be breaks during events like weddings when guests are busy, or adding special themes to the drawings like costumes could take extra time.
  • When will the traditional caricature artist arrive at my event?
The artist(s) usually arrive 30 minutes before their scheduled start time. However, depending on the venue, there are occasions when the artist(s) will arrive 45 minutes to 1 hour beforehand. Larger hotel venues may require the artist(s) to arrive earlier to navigate the venue and parking. Additionally, the arrival time may be affected if the artist is coming from another event that prevents them from arriving 1 hour before their scheduled start time. If you require the artist to be set up 1 hour prior to their scheduled start time, an additional fee will be charged.
  • How many people can the traditional caricature artist draw each hour?
Our traditional caricaturists can typically draw 11 to 13 people in black and white or 6 to 9 people in color each hour, on average. Please note that not all traditional caricaturists are able to create color caricatures, so be sure to request them when booking.
  • How much space does the traditional caricaturist need to set up?
A traditional caricature artist typically requires a space of about 6’ x 6’. This allows enough room for two chairs: one for the artist and one for the person being drawn, so they can sit comfortably across from each other.
